I’m trying really, really hard not to give up and play the blame game.
I spent several days last week with people who have given up the corporate life and gone and built things for themselves. They spotted opportunities, and followed up on them. I had a long conversation with ShandyKing about entrepreneurship… making decisions about work and life directions, building a business the right way, controlling my own destiny. He asked what my reasons for wanting to build a business were. I guess today, my answer became far more solidified. People who’ve done their own thing have told me that I’ve got the skills to pull off leaving the BS of the 9-5 behind. And I know they’re right. I’ve just got to summon the courage — or maybe just channel the frustration.
Maybe, after I move on Saturday…

whatever you do just make sure you have a long term plan. i know too many people that jumped for easy money and then got into trouble becuase they had no strategic business plan
Some people like the risk environment and some don’t
Being employed has its advantages.. The steady pay check is nice… compared to the peaks and valleys and uncertain times of being self employed.
Having the brains to have your own business is one thing… Having the courage and stamina to fight through the good and bad times is another.
