Earthquakes, air pollution, and extinction

Just got to wondering… Are there studies of the effects on air pollution around earthquakes which might confirm the theories involving dust shaken into the air after a meteor impact causing the climate change which killed off the dinosaurs?

Perhaps it’s not relevant becase the forces are shear forces in an earthquake, just pondering.
